Code Generation better than Model Interpretation?

It 's been almost a year since the last Code Generation 2010 conference, where a very interesting discussion was held about pros and cons of Code Generation vs Model Interpretation.

Today I would like to add my point of view. Considering our customers' perspective there are at least 3 good reasons to say that Code Generation is better than Model Interpretation:

  1. customers can choose their execution environment
  2. you have two degrees of freedom instead of one
  3. no vendor lock-in
